Two White House Writers, G. Philip Hughes and Mark Davis, in a groundbreaking piece express concern about continuing reductions in U.S. nuclear forces in a world in which China and Russia are rapidly modernizing their forces, and proliferation is increasing. Orchestrated a thought-leadership campaign that effectively countered a policy proposal to virtually eliminate America’s ICBM deterrent.


The White House Writers Group worked with leading U.S. defense analysts to educate U.S. policymakers about the irreplaceable role ICBMs play in safeguarding America and preserving world peace.  The results of this effort:

  • A Nuclear Policy Review that retained the existing force of ICBMs;
  • The creation of a new program at the esteemed Center for Security and International Studies dedicated to supporting nuclear capabilities; and,
  • The enhancement of the client’s thought leadership, with the division’s top executive becoming a military service secretary.
