Bio: Dave Shiflett is a nationally recognized journalist. He served as an editor and columnist at the Denver Rocky Mountain News from 1989 to 1995. His writing has appeared in such publications as The Weekly Standard, The New Democrat, The Wall Street Journal, Sunday and Daily Telegraph (of London), Reader's Digest, American Spectator, and Good Housekeeping.
After earlier stints at the Richmond Times-Dispatch, Richmond News Leader, The Tidewater (Va.) News, and the Chesapeake Post, he joined the editorial board of The Washington Times. From there he went into the Reagan Administration as Director of Communications for the Consumer Product Safety Commission.
Mr. Shiflett is a graduate of Hampden-Sydney College. He and his wife, Susan, have two sons.
