Bio: Chriss Winston writes speeches and provides media and government relations services for clients in a wide range of industries, including telecommunications, healthcare and financial services.
She has extensive experience in government and politics. She served as Deputy Assistant to the President for Communications and Director of Speech Writing for President George Bush. She also oversaw the Offices of Media Relations and Public Affairs in the Bush White House.
Prior to her White House service, Mrs. Winston was Deputy Communications Director for the 1988 Bush/Quayle campaign. She had also served as Director of Incumbent Campaigns and Deputy Campaign Director for the National Republican Congressional Committee.
During the Reagan years, her assignments included Director of the Office of Public Information for the United States Information Agency and Deputy Secretary of Labor and Director of Information for then-Secretary of Labor William Brock. She served as press secretary for Congressman Jim Leach as well as for the Occupational Safety and Health Administration.
Mrs. Winston has also served as County Commissioner for Charles County, Maryland, overseeing the county's $160 million budget covering economic development, finance, public safety, education, and community services.
